Saint Cyprus’ Message on the Wildfire Outbreak
Over the past several days, Cyprus has been facing one of the most devastating wildfires in its recorded history. Sparked under extreme heat and wind conditions, the wildfire has spread rapidly, leaving behind a scarred landscape and challenging communities and emergency services like never before.
The blaze, which began in the inland regions of the island, has now reached several mountainous and rural areas, affecting villages and wildlife habitats. The affected zones include parts of Troodos, Lefkara, and surrounding forested stretches. Local firefighting teams, supported by aircraft and international assistance, are working tirelessly to contain the fire and prevent it from advancing further.
This wildfire has stirred not only a strong emergency response but also a wave of solidarity and compassion from across the island. At Saint Cyprus, we extend our deepest sympathies to all those impacted by this tragedy. Our thoughts are with the families who have been displaced, and with the heroic fire crews who continue to face unimaginable conditions with resilience and courage.
We also understand that many of our guests may feel concerned during such a troubling time. We want to reassure all current and future visitors that the wildfire is not near the Paphos, Coral Bay, or Latchi areas, where all our properties are located. These regions remain entirely safe and unaffected, and your holiday will not be disrupted by the ongoing situation.
That said, we encourage all guests to remain aware and informed. In the unlikely event of an emergency, we urge you to contact the fire department immediately. The relevant contact numbers can be found under the Emergency Services section in your property’s digital guide.
Our local agents are available 24/7 and will continue to monitor the situation closely, keeping your safety and peace of mind as our top priority.
While we hope the days ahead bring control and calm to the affected areas, we also wish all our guests a safe, comfortable, and pleasant stay here in Cyprus.

Paphos is set to welcome a new marina
Great news from Cyprus! The Crown Iris, the first Israeli cruise ship of the summer, has arrived on the island after its journey from Haifa to Larnaca. This marks the beginning of a series of 10 scheduled cruises on the same route throughout the summer. Passengers get to enjoy overnight stays on the ship, along with exciting excursions to Lefkara, Nicosia, and Ayia Napa.
In more positive tourism news, Cyprus is experiencing a return to pre-pandemic levels, as stated by Deputy Minister for Tourism, Costas Koumis. Despite the evident impact of the pandemic in 2022, May 2023 witnessed a significant increase in tourist arrivals, with a remarkable 36.2 percent rise compared to the previous year.
Additionally, the charming city of Paphos is set to welcome a new marina. The plans for this exciting development have been adopted by the deputy ministry of tourism. The marina will not only include a pier for cruise ships but also offer opportunities for investors to build a hotel and mansions. The marina's location in the village of Kissonerga, Paphos, has been finalized, and consultants are expected to be hired and in place by the end of this year. It's an exciting prospect for both locals and visitors alike!
